GET INVOLVED

Become AN IDNR Volunteer…it’s easy!

You can join our team of volunteers who share their love of nature, their time, and their dedication to conservation.

We welcome individuals, community organizations, such as schools, scouts, church groups, and service organizations.

Volunteers are needed throughout the State at Parks, Campgrounds, Wildlife Management Areas, Nature Preserves, Special Events and many of our Programs.

If you care about the outdoors and want to give back to your community, or if you have a passion to help us fulfill our mission, you can help!  You or your organization can donate a few hours or several weeks to the Department's many volunteer projects.

You can volunteer on weekdays, weekends or a combination of both.

All of the Department's volunteer opportunities are listed below***

It’s Easy to Volunteer!
Simply choose a Volunteer opportunity within a Site or Division above that interest you.
Contact the IDNR Staff listed by phone or email, to determine if there is a volunteer opportunity available.
Schedule a time to meet at the site and complete your volunteer paperwork.
You will be assigned a Volunteer Supervisor who will be there for questions, concerns and anything else that may help you perform your volunteer duties.
Keep track of your volunteer hours.  This is important for insurance, reporting and recognition.  Turn in your hours to your Volunteer Supervisor frequently.

Thank you for considering volunteering with IDNR and if you need more information about the
