ENVIRONMENTAL REVIEWS COMPLETED
Project reviews completed from September 15 to October 15 are listed below. These projects have been screened through the internal environmental review process for potential impacts on wetlands, threatened and endangered species, and cultural and archaeological resources etc. Through the review process it was determined that environmental impacts have been kept to a minimum and mitigated as necessary and that they do not meet the criteria for significant actions as defined in the environmental review process and may proceed. All of these projects are in compliance with the Endangered Species Protection Act, Natural Areas Preservation Act, Interagency Wetlands Policy Act and cultural resource statutes.

  • Delabar State Park
    0106392 - This project involves the construction of six 12' x 45' gravel camp pads within the existing campground at the site. 6" of CA-6 will be used for each pad. Project was submitted for review on 8-23-01.

  • Wildlife Prairie State Park
    0106393 - This project involves the construction of a 30-car parking area and a cul-de-sac at the scenic overlook in the park. Project was submitted for review on 8-23-01.

  • LaSalle Lake Hatchery
    0105900 - The following work items are being implemented at the hatchery to address deficiencies in rearing and harvesting fish at the facility. 1. Construct harvest structures for the ponds. 2. Reshape the pond bottoms to drain into the new structures and stabilize the pond side slopes. Provide pond piping systems. 3. Provide a well with a capacity of 400 GPM and any necessary treatment for the water. Project was submitted for review on 8-14-01.

  • Pere Marquette State Park
    0104643 - This project provides for the improvement and upgrading of the horse stable concession facilities at the site. Work items include interior and exterior upgrading of the existing stable structure and the construction of a new covered pole-style wing onto the north end of the existing stable/barn for a covered paddock and equipment storage purposes. An open paddock/breezeway area with concrete flooring and a water hydrant will also be provided. Project was submitted for review on 7-29-01.

  • Castle Rock State Park
    0105899 - This project involves the replacement of the existing viewing platform with a like structure but will incorporate improvements for accessability. Work will include replacement of the entire boardwalk with a new 4' wide walk and the extension of the walk to replace the stepped platforms. Project was submitted for review on 8-14-01.

  • Mississippi Palisades State Park
    0106168 - This project involves the removal and replacement of the asphalt shingles on the historic CCC shelter at the South Entrance of the site. Project was submitted for review on 8-28-01.

  • Rock Cut State Park
    0106646 - The Winnebago County Department of Public Works proposes to extend the current Perryville Recreation Path with a 10' wide hard-surfaced, all-weather path beginning at Willow Creek and ending at Hart Road. The path will link users north of Harlem Road to Rock Cut State Park. Project was submitted for review on 9-19-01.

  • Hennepin Canal Parkway
    0107130 - The Sterling Park District has experienced severe bank deterioration and sloughing due to wave action at a man-made ox-bow impoundment that it leases from the Department. The District is proposing to place rip-rap over an erosion blanket at a 2 to 1 slope for 1200 feet of bank line to curtail the erosion. Project was submitted for review on 10-9-01.

  • Red Hills State Park
    0106756 - This project involves the renovation of 750' of the Valley Springs Hiking Trail. Work will include the replacement of wooden water bars with trail dips, aggregate surfacing of the trail tread, realignment of approximately 100' of trail to remove a set of wooden steps, and the replacement of a bridge over Muddy Creek with a culvert crossing. Project was submitted for review on 9-17-01.

  • Mautino State Fish & Wildlife Area
    0106755 - This project involves the deepening of a 4 acre depression with a scarifier in the attempt to create a more permanent wetland situation at the site. One half of the area will be done each year for the next two years. Project was submitted for review on 9-15-01.
