ENVIRONMENTAL REVIEWS COMPLETED
Project reviews completed from October 15 to November 15 are listed below.
These projects have been screened through the internal environmental review
process for potential impacts on wetlands, threatened and endangered species,
and cultural and archaeological resources etc. Through the review process
it was determined that environmental impacts have been kept to a minimum
and mitigated as necessary and that they do not meet the criteria for
significant actions as defined in the environmental review process and
may proceed. All of these projects are in compliance with the Endangered
Species Protection Act, Natural Areas Preservation Act, Interagency Wetlands
Policy Act and cultural resource statutes.
- Shabbona State Park
0103140 - This project involves the creation of a 6- to 8- acre wetland
by constructing a 1500-foot-long earthen dam. Also included in the work
will be an emergency spillway, 60 feet of spillway pipe, shoreline work,
and drawdown devices. Project was submitted for review on 5-1-01.
- Matthiessen State Park
0008231 - This project involves the construction of a standard IDNR
trailer dump station and treatment field at the equestrian campground
at the site. Additional work items will include electrical and water
service and grading and seeding. Project was submitted for review on
11-8-01.
- Fox Ridge State Park
0101145 - This project involves the rehabilitation of various historic
structures at the site. Work items include tuck-pointing on the brick
pavilion, replacing the brick fence around the courtyard at the residence,
replacing the roof on the water plant and on Cardinal cabin, and reconstructing
the Hickory Shelter at a new location. Project was submitted for review
on10-2-01.
- Rend Lake Wildlife Management
Area
0008284 - This project entails the construction of a 55-acre wetland
by building a contour levee system at the site. Material for the construction
of the levee would be taken from a shallow borrow pit behind the levee
that would increase the size of the pool area. Project was submitted
for review on 11-2-01.
- Woodyard State Natural
Area
0106757 - This project involves the City of Georgetown constructing
a new 10" water supply line for 100' across site property at the
former railroad ROW which extends to the north from the main body of
the natural area. Project was submitted for review on 9-17-01.
- Carlyle Wildlife Management
Area
0008642 - This project involves the rehabilitation and possible relocation
of the Levee A pump station. Work will include moving the pump closer
to the river and eliminating the existing pump ditch. Project was submitted
for review on 11-22-01.
- Moraine Hills State Park
0105901 - This project involves upgrading the internal road system at
the site. Work items include the resurfacing of road surfaces, revisions
to vertical alignments and foreslopes, the incorporation of a turnaround
loop, reconstruction of parking lots, the addition of left turn lanes,
and road widening. Project was submitted for review on 8-14-01.
- Wildlife Prairie Park
0107298 - This project involves the Central Illinois Light Company installing,
operating, and maintaining buried wires/cables and above ground transformers
and service pedestals along the entrance road at the site. Project was
submitted for review on 10-16-01.
- Newton Lake
0002009 - This project involves the development of a new boat access
area on the east side of the lake. Site development will include a 22'-wide
access road, two lane concrete boat ramp, parking for 30 car/trailer
units, vault toilet, floating courtesy docks, shoreline reinforcement,
sidewalks, and a kiosk. Project was submitted for review on 3-21-01.
