GIT Executive Council
It
would be impossible to list all of the partners that have made this
trail a reality; from community leaders to trail advocates and users
the list is seemingly endless. We thank all of the partners and especially
the Executive Council. The Executive Council was formed during the
initial of planning of the Grand Illinois Trail with representatives
of state agencies and three regional coalitions—Chicagoland, Canal
Country and Northwestern Illinois—serving on this council and helping
to establish a leadership role to keep the momentum of the trail going.
Together, the local partners and the Executive Council have reached
out to link existing trails, develop new trails and establish on-road
connections to make traveling the Grand Illinois Trail a continuous,
memorable experience.
