The Vermilion Watershed task Force (VWTF) was formed in spring of 1996 by a group of concerned stakeholders to enhance the water quality of the Vermilion River and its tributaries.
VWTF's goal includes the development of a watershed resource management plan. This plan is the foundation that the taskforce will use to build a healthy watershed. Public information meetings, enhancement projects, youth education, and field research are just a few tools that will be used to achieve this goal.
Citizen stakeholders are the most important part of this task force. They provide a first hand point of view gained by living and working in the watershed. Citizen involvement is key in making our watershed management plan a success.
Please consider donating some time and effort to the health of your watershed. For further information, you may download a brochure on the Vermilion Watershed Task Force or contact the Livingston County Soil and Water Conservation District at (815) 844-6127, ext. 3.
