Conservation Congress revitalizes a traditional constituent forum for Illinois citizens to voice their opinion on agency matters. The Conservation Congress originated in 1993. Constituents elected members from their regions, and those representatives convened in Springfield and voted on priority issues. Now Director Miller has instituted a process that is open to everyone wishing to participate in a dialogue with the Department, and uses the Internet and other communication tools.
