Mine Certification Examinations and Classes
Certification Classes held prior to semi-annual examinations:
Three locations for certification classes:
- Benton
- Harrisburg
- Lively Grove
- Springfield
One day per week at each location for twelve weeks and twice each day
- 9:00 a.m. - Noon
- 6 p.m. - 9:00 p.m.
Semi-annual examinations(April and October)
Two Locations for exams:
- Springfield
- Rend Lake College
Exams:
- Written examinations (three parts):
- Multiple choice with a number of questions based
on which exam taken
- Ventilation map
- Gas chart
- Oral examination: conducted before Mining Board members
and/or SMI's
