The Office of Mines and Minerals, Division of Oil and Gas regulates the oil and gas industry while protecting the state's environment, land, and water resources. The Division is broken up into three units.
| The permitting and technical services unit reviews all permit applications and related reports submitted to the Division. It is responsible for the tecnical review of field tests performed by the Division's district office field inspectors, includding temporary abandonment requests and mechanical integrity tests for Class II injection wells. |

| The administrative compliance uUnit is responsible for the review of all transfer requests for well permits as well as the collection of annual well fees. This unit works in conjuction with th Permitting and Technical Services Unit for its reviews. |

| The enforcement unit is responsible for the coordination of all enforcement actions initiated by the Division and investigates all citizen complaints and inquiries, and crude oil and saltwater spills. |
