10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 8, 2013

Do you want to learn to fish or to become a better angler? The Two Rivers Family Fishing Fair offers fun and education for the entire family.

The Fishing Fair will be held at Pere Marquette State Park, five miles north of Grafton, Illinois on Illinois Route 100. The event is co-sponsored by Pere Marquette State Park, which is administered by the Illinois Department of Natural Resources and Two Rivers National Wildlife Refuge, which is administered by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service.  Information for beginning anglers and lots of fun activities for the kids are just a few of the festivities. Fair goers will learn knot tying, fish identification, fish cleaning, casting, and many other skills, plus lots of free gifts and prizes!

We will be bringing back some favorite activities from previous years, such as a 4,000 gallon aquarium stocked with many of the local fish found in the Illinois River, Camo the Clown and the popular trout pond. We will also introduce some new stations, which we hope families will enjoy.
There is no charge to attend the fair or catch a fish. No license or fishing gear is needed.

There will be numerous seminars at the aquarium, where several local experts will be speaking. Food, refreshments, and entertainment will be available at the fair.

We want to help the citizens of Illinois and Missouri, especially the youth, learn more so they can experience the excitement and relaxation fishing offers.

For more information contact Pere Marquette State Park at 618-786-3323 ext. 1.
