- Rail, Snipe, and Woodcock - Check at Site Office for seasons and limits.
  1. Hunters are required to wear a cap and upper outer garment of solid and vivid blaze orange of at least 400 square inches.
  2. Archery turkey and deer hunting is not allowed during the regular firearm, muzzleloader, and late-winter firearm deer seasons except archery deer hunting will be allowed the last 3 days of the late-winter firearm season.
  3. During archery deer season -- hours ½ hour before sunrise to ½ hour after sunset.
  4. 22 rimfire firearms permitted from sunset to sunrise.
    Deer stands must be portable and may be left unattended between Sept. 15 and Jan. 31 but must have an owner I.D. tag with contact information.  No camping is allowed on the site.
  5. Free Site Hunting Permits (windshield cards) are required for species. These are available online at www.dnr.illinois.gov. Navigate to "hunting/trapping: and then "public hunting areas" to print these permits. Hunters will be required to return to this website prior to February 15th each year to record harvest information. Failure to submit data will result in loss of hunting privileges for the following year.
