NAME: Mt. Vernon Game Propagation Center
LOCATION: Three miles south of Mt. Vernon and one mile east of State Route 37
DESCRIPTION:
Total Acres: 700 Acres of Water: 1 ½ acre pond & 8 acre shallow water area
Huntable Acres: 650 Acres of Timber: 300
Buildings, Pens, etc.: 100 Cultivated or Fallow: 300
Topography is rolling with timbered hills and creek bottoms
AVAILABLE GAME SPECIES:
Dove Deer (archery only)
Squirrel Rabbit Turkey (Spring Season, limited permits)
AREA REGULATIONS:
1. Special regulations apply, check at headquarters
2. All hunters must register
3. No overnight camping
4. Dove hunting NON-TOXIC SHOT ONLY. Hunting hours are sunrise to 11:30am daily Sept 1st - Sept. 5th. A drawing will be held one hour before sunrise if more hunters show up than can be accomodated. Closes September 30th.
