White Pines State Park Hunter Fact Sheet

LOCATION: White Pines State Park is located in Ogle County; it lies on the north side of Pines Road, approx. 6 miles east of Polo, Il. and 8 miles west of Oregon, Il.
HUNTING AREA: The hunting area is comprises of approx. 300 acres and is mostly pines, hardwoods, some open areas and brushy fields.

(1) Archery deer hunting permitted Monday through Thursday only. Starting November 1, archery hunting will be permitted Monday through Sunday excluding site-wide firearm season and state holidays.
(2) No archery hunting during the Site's special firearm deer seasons (Nov 12, 13 & 14 and Nov 26, 27 & 28, 2012).
(3) Only antlerless deer
may be taken in October. Either sex deer may be taken from November 1st through
the end of the statewide archery deer season. An "antlerless" deer
has no antlers or possesses antlers less than 3 inches in length.
(4) The Firearm Deer Season on this site is the Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday prior
to the first (statewide) firearm deer season and the Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday
prior to the second (statewide) firearm deer season.
(5) Antlerless deer only except stand-by permits may be issued as either sex
for the Firearm Deer Season if provisions for the Earn-a-Buck program have been
met.
HUNTER QUOTA: Archery deer hunting
- The maximum number of hunters that may be signed-in at any one time is 10.
SITE FIREARM PERMIT: Hunters
must possess a permit issued specifically for White Pines, for the season they
are hunting to hunt this site.
DRIVING DEER: It
is unlawful to drive deer, or participate in a deer drive on this site.
HUNTING REGULATIONS: All
regulation found in the Illinois Wildlife Code, Federal Regulations, and Administrative
Orders will apply unless area regulations are more restrictive.
