LOCATION: 13 Miles south of Dixon on Rt. 26 - 3 miles west of Rt. 26 on Maytown Road.

DESCRIPTION: Total area - 2,565 acres, Huntable Acres - 2,515. The area is one of gently rolling topography. Much of the area consists of slough, pines, cultivated fields, grasslands, and wetlands.

Visitors should be cautious of trees on site where mechanical treatments or naturally decaying processes have left them weak enough to fall.

All regulations found in the Illinois Wildlife Code, Federal Regulations and Administrative Orders will apply unless area regulations are more restrictive.

SPECIAL AREA REGULATIONS:
  1. All hunters are required to sign in prior to hunting and to check out and report harvest immediately after the conclusion of the hunt. Sign in / check out box is located at the hunter check station.
  2. Prior to hunting raccoon, opossum, fox, coyote and skunk, hunters must obtain a site issued permit. This permit must be displayed in the vehicle while hunting the site for these species. Hunters must still sign in, sign out, and report harvest each time they hunt the site.
  3. Closed during the site's firearm deer seasons. During the archery deer season, archery hunting hours for these species is from 30 min. before sunrise to 30 min. after sunset only. No rifle hunting is allowed, except, .22 caliber or smaller rimfire rifles may be used from 30 min. after sunset until 30 min. before sunrise.
  4. After February 15th, coyote and skunk hunting hours are from 30 min. before sunrise until 20 min. after sunset.
  5. Further restrictions may exist. See regulations posted at the site before hunting.

IT SHALL BE UNLAWFUL:
  1. To hunt in any area not designated as being open to hunting.
  2. To park anywhere on the site except in the designated parking lots & for unauthorized vehicles to enter upon any trail.
  3. To hunt with anything other than a shotgun or bow and arrow; except that .22 rimfire firearms may be used for raccoon, opossum, fox, coyote and skunk from 30 minutes after sunset until 30 minutes before sunrise.
  4. For any person to consume any alcoholic beverage, including beer & wine, while on the area for the purpose of hunting.
  5. To construct or use a tree stand using nails, screws, or any device which cuts or pierces the bark of the tree. Only one stand allowed per hunter. Stands must be portable and may be left from Sept. 15 - Jan. 31; and must be tagged with hunters name, address & phone #.
