Shabbona is the only lake that we know of that has 4 State Record Fish to its credit!!!

Dan Jett caught his Tiger Muskie while on vacation in the Summer of 1982. He had seen the Muske earlier while Crappie Fishing and he decided to go back and fish with a yellow Mepps Muskie Killer. He caught it in the deep trees at Area #28.

Don Prescott caught his trophy on a chartreuse Bumble Bee Sinnerbait in the deep trees by Area 24. He had caught some big Bass suspended in the Submerged Tree Tops in 30 feet of water, then he caught this beautiful Tiger Muskie.

Charlie caught his monster while fishing with his son. He had been fishing around Area 23, which has a steep drop off. As his boat drifted over the drop he Yo-Yo-ed a Chartreuse & Orange Lindy Big Fin Spinnerbait. As he felt a hit he set the hook and into the record books went State Record Number 3.

Chris Kim caught the current State Of Illinos Record Muskie in the No Motor Zone, near Area 3. He had been Crappie Fishing and he also had a 4" sucker minnow on a bobber. The Muskie almost pulled his fishing pole into the water, but Chris grabbed his pole and successfully landed the Muskie. (Note: This is the only full length picture of the fish before it was frozen. It is being held by Kevin Wang, Chris' fishing buddy).
