Campsites may be reserved from May 1— October
31. Reservations are accepted by mail starting
Jan. 2. Walk-in reservations are accepted
starting Feb.1.Complete all the information requested and send the entire signed
application along with a check or money order for $5.00(non-refundable
reservation fee) directly to the park. Make the check or money order payable to
IL. Dept. of Natural Resources-White Pines. Incomplete forms and/or incorrect
fees will be returned. The reservation is not final until you have received a
letter of confirmation from the park. If the group does not have a letter of
confirmation, the group will be considered on a first come first served basis.
1. A youth group consists of 5 or more minors up
to 18 years of age who are members of an organization camping with its adult
leaders.
2. The $5.00 reservation
fee is non-refundable, non-transferable and is in addition to the regular
camping fee. The regular youth group camping fee is $2.00 per person per
night with a minimum fee of $20.00 per night. The regular youth camping
fee is to be paid upon arrival at the park. ONLY SEND THE $5.00 RESERVATION
FEE.
3. Completed applications and checks must be received
in the park office at least 7 days prior to the beginning of the desired
camping period or they will be returned.
4.A campsite may be reserved for a maximum of 14
nights.
5.Reservations will be held until 3 PM of
the second night of the reservation period. You will lose your entire
reservation if you do not show up by 3 PM on the second night of the reservation
period.
6. The Dept. reserves the right to make
adjustments in the assignment of campsites as necessary.
7. All youth group campsites are walk-in camping
only. There is no vehicle access to the campgrounds, therefore all camping is
TENTS ONLY.
8. The youth group campgrounds has pit type
toilets available, a parking lot for vehicles and drinking water. Each campsite
has a fire pit and picnic tables. The shower building in the family campgrounds
is not considered as part of the youth group campgrounds and is therefore not
available for use by youth group campers.
9. Alcoholic beverages are not permitted in the
campgrounds.
10. All campers are subject to all statutes and
administrative rules governing the park which are posted at the camping permit
station and the main park office. Any violations may result in the eviction of
the camping party from the campgrounds and denial of future requests.
