Fox River Aqueduct - Ottawa

MULTIMEDIA

Slide show

The Fox River Aqueduct was built to carry the canal over the Fox River and is the largest of the four aqueducts along the Illinois & Michigan Canal. Due to the size of the aqueduct, it was considered one of the engineering wonders of its time. Today, the Illinois & Michigan Canal State Trail uses the aqueduct to transport trail users across the Fox River.

Directions

Located in Ottawa: From Rte. 6 turn south on Champlain St and proceed approximately three blocks to the aqueduct.
