Eldon Hazlet State Park hosted a Youth Archery Field Day on September 16, 2000.  Area youth learned the fundamentals of archery and archery hunting.  Certified shooting instructors from IDNR were present to teach the youth proper shooting techniques.  Other classes offered included bow making, camouflage and tree stand safety, deer anatomy and shot placement, and animal game calling.  Over 70 people attended the event.  Sponsors: Midwest Archery, Whitetails Unlimited, Illinois Federation of Outdoor Resources, Carlyle Lake Front Cottages and IDNR.
