Location and Access:
From the intersection of US Rt 30 and US Rt 52 - travel north on Rt 52 approximately 3/4 mile, then continue northwest on Rt 52 just over 1/2 mile. The nature preserve is south of Rt 52, separated from the highway by private property. Access is by a lane to a house at the northwest corner of the preserve.
Description:
This cemetery prairie nature preserve is a portion of Temperance Hill Cemetery. It is a fragment of mesic prairie dominated by big bluestem, Indian grass, and various sedge species - and is representative of the original mesic prairie vegetation of the Grand Prairie Section of the Grand Prairie Natural Division.
