• This CD-ROM provides supplemental information about Illinois woodland
species and habitats for the educator and student.
• Four hundred nine Illinois woodland species representing mammals, birds, reptiles,
amphibians, fishes, invertebrates, plants, fungi, protists and bacteria are presented in a field
guide format.
• At least
one full-color image of each species is shown.
• Facts about features, behavior, habitat, Illinois range, sounds
(if available), classification and status (endangered/threatened;
native/exotic) are included for each species.
• The sounds
produced by 83 species are available for the listener. Sounds are
also described in the text section for the hearing impaired.
• Descriptions
and photographs of Illinois woodland habitats are included.
•This CD-ROM is available to teachers in Illinois by written request on school letterhead and at lending locations statewide.
