Location: 5 miles west of Harrisburg, Illinois; south of State Rt. 13, near Carrier Mills, IL.

Total Acres: 4100 Lakes, Ponds, Wetlands: 275
Open, Non-cultivated: 2300 Timber, Brushy Areas: 1500
Available Species: Archery Deer; Dove; Quail; Rabbit; Squirrel; Turkey; Furbearers
A vacated strip mined land, Sahara encompasses approximately 4100 acres. A portion of the Site is closed to all access each hunting season from October 1st through November 1st; see Site-Map for detailed area. Mine reclamation hazards limit public access on some portions of the site. Vehicles must remain on two primary access roads. Users must adhere to signs and postings for access to huntable areas. Public safety is a priority focus of programs at Sahara Woods.
